The quote means that Romeo had a dream
that night. This quote is significant to the play because
it is giving the people a hint on what may happen later on.

I think that this quote can decsribe an image and
event in which anyone can relate to. This quote can relate
to ever day life because everyone has dreams.

Love song Lyrics and Response

The Dance - Garth Brooks

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I the king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance

The love song I chose for this assignment is The Dance by Garth Brooks. I chose this song because it is a love song and an emotional song. The Dance was recorded in 1989 by country singer, Garth Brooks. This song was know as Brooks' signature song, because it was put not only on one CD, but, many of his CDs. The song contains a lot of well known people dying while following their dreams. I'd say it is a very imspirational song to people whom lost their loved ones.
The [[Cody B R&J#|song]] is about people whom love someone deeply and then ends up losing that person. Many people think that the lyrics are about dancing with someone, but more commonly, they believe it's about the hardships of relationships. Garth Brooks intended neither of these points for the song. He wrote the song, as to those who lost loved ones while they were following their dreams. He uses the deaths of JFK, Martin Luther King, Christa mcAuliffe, and Lane Frost as examples in his video. The title, The Dance, is not about a dance at all. He uses the word, Dance, as to mean the relationship or love in the song. For example, "The dance we shared beneath the stars above." This isn't about dancing under the stars, but the relationship or love shared between two people on the earth. Another example is, "I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance." This isn't refering to missing a dance with someone. This line actually means that, I could have missed the pain of your lose, but then I'd never have had a good relationship with you. So that's what the lyrics and what the titles about.
I would agree with the message the song is saying. I agree that when you have a love for someone, whether it be a friendly love, family love, or a relationship love, that you'll witness pain inside, nut you'll never regret your love to them, to take away the pain. I could say that I relate to this song in two ways. The song is about unespected or sacrifices for dreams kind of deaths. My grandma is one way I could relate to this song. I had a strong family love with her and we did a lot together and then one day she got cancer and soon died. Another example is my friend Derek's death, we had a love that only really good friends share. He did of a four wheeler accident and his dream was racing four wheelers. So although I have the pain inside, I don't regret not having those loves.
There is a ryme pattern in this song. The pattern is, AABCAABCAABBCCABBB. As seen, the pattern dies off after eight lines. The pattern isn't noticeable in the song. This is probly because it does die off after the first eight lines. The style of music is country. Country does fit in the message of this song because it's slower then most music styles, you can understand the words better, and it's a more calm type of genre. Garth Brooks chose a good genre for The Dance.
You can now see why I picked The Dance as my song. I have a connection to it and it is an inspirational song. The would be a recommended song to anybody whom may have lost a loved one. You can see why country was the best choice for this song's lyrics. So that's why I did my song of The Dance.

ACT II

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet."

- Juliet II, ii

external image images?q=tbn:ANd9GcScnAkQRXUoJTU88xw8B0uwiRYQAFGvBE_wITNhJlfKhA5G4hiYexternal image images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQOVMcfBW7DcV_Kf98t1TcWz0521uAeSbq3SZiG-in0fQZGhMtXrGJusZGh
This quote from act II is saying that names don't matter,
it's what's inside that counts. It doesn't matter if it's a rose
or lilly flower, they both smell just as sweet.
It is important to the play because Romeo and Juliet are suppose
to hate each other because of their family's hate toward each other.
But Romeo and Juliet love each other and so Juliet is saying
"It doesn't matter what his last name is because I love him."

I think that this quote is significant to the play because it tells
it describes the deffinition of true love. As in love is a feeling for
someone no matter how much money they have, what family
they are from, or what specialties they have. This quote can
relate to every day life because there are a lot of familys
that are upset with may not like the person their family member
is dating because they don't like the family they come from.
It can also relate to those people whom like someone but because
they might not fit into the family, they won't date them. So that's how
this quote can relate to every day life.

ADVICE LETTER Act II

Dear Romeo,

You asked me for advice on your relationship with Juliet. You told me that one night you both met and fell in
love instantly. You said that you soon found out she was a Capulet which is your families worse enemies.
You had mentioned that you and Juliet are getting secretly married. Now your asking me for advice on what
I think you should do and what I think about all this.

Well Romeo, I'd say you are in a pretty messed up scenario. However, I think if you follow my advice, I can
help you through this. My first piece of advice is to slow everything down. I'd advise you not to marry Juliet until you
know your love is certain. Just because Juliet is beautiful doesn't mean you absolutely love her. My second piece of
advice is to find out if your love is true. If you follow my first piece of advice then that'll by you and Juliet time to talk
and get to know each other more. I would lastly recommend, that you and one of your friends, like Benvolio, to go
and talk to Lord Capulet and Lady Capulet. You should try to convince them and your family to stop their feud and to
get along with each other. Explain that Juliet and you love each other deeply and perhaps that'll end the feud. I'd
also bring Juliet to do this, as well. The reason I say to bring Benvolio and Juliet is because challenges are more easily
accomplished with more than one person.

If you don't follow this advice then you might have severe problems in the future. For example, If you don't love Juliet and
marry her, then you might not end up having the happy life you could have. Also, it might make the feud between your
families worse. You'll have to live with that regret for the rest of your life, too. If you don't try and make a compromise
between Juliet's family and your family then it could make the problems between them worse because you both went
behind their backs. You and Juliet might get banned from your families as well, and you don't want that.

If you do follow my advice, then you won't have to worry about making the mistake moving to fast with someone you don't
really love. You might even find out that you both don't actually love each other, or you might find out you do love each other.
Lastly, you should confront both of the families so you don't make things worse. You really will be better off with being on the
good side of the Capulets. By doing this you will help others, too. I believe your town would be more peaceful if your families
stopped fighting all the time. So that's why it's important to confront your family and the Capulet's. The Capulet's might even honor
you for not going behind their backs. So, that's what I recommend you do Romeo. I think you will have good luck following my
advice. Hope I helped you, Romeo, and Juliet with your relationship problems.

Yours Truly,
Cody B.

ACT III

"Thou cutt’st my head off with a golden axe."

- Romeo III, iii

external image images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQegcW5lPx66S2PAdSiG6OVHL9rtdzah6D4E-ZY1Pg86KwrG-MgLg
The quote here from act III is saying, "You cut my head
off with a golden axe." This quote is significant to the play
because Romeo thinks they will cut his head off being he
Tybalt. Or it is as he would rather his head be cut off then to
be banished from the town.

This saying can relate to every day life in some different ways.
It can relate to a person whom has murdered someone and now
the people think the only way to make it even is to take the
murder's life. In some cases that does happen. It can also relate
to people who m have been banished from something they care about
enough, that they'd rather die then to be banished. I think this is
a bazzare quote. I don't really agree to taking or allowing some one
to take a life. I believe in forgiveness to a point. The is needs for punish-
ment but never a need to take a life. Taking a life is a big sacrifice.
So that's how it is significant to the and what my thoughts on this quote.

KILLINGS AT VERONA

Who was involved!

Yesterday, in Verona, in the hot hours of the afternoon, a fight
occurred ending in the murder of Mercutio by Tybalt and also the
killing of Tybalt by Romeo.

Two families, the Montagues and the Capulets, found themselves face to
face with each other in the streets of Verona. The two families are
well known because of their huge grudge against each other that has
been going on for years.

Why the fight broke out!

The reason, supposedly, for the fight was that there was an annual
masked ball of the Capulets and Romeo gatecrashed it. A member of
Tybalt's family says they overheard a conversation where Tybalt said
he 'swore revenge against Romeo'.

Guilty party!

Romeo, a Montague, Tybalt a Capulet mainly fought the fight, along
with a friend of Romeo's - Mercutio. When asked who started the fight
Benvolio answered, 'Tybalt, here slain, whom Romeo's hand did slay.'
Mercutio was the first man to be killed in this tragedy that started
as a hating between the families. Romeo did not want to fight Tybalt and
so Mercutio thought he would then. Romeo stepped in front to break up
the fight. Tybalt seen Mercutio under Romeo's arm and took advantage of it
and slayyed him. Tybalt than ran off. At first, Mercutio was joking about the
intensity of the injury but it as found to be fatal. Romeo was furious with Tybalt
for killing his friend and in revenge murdered Tybalt. When realising what he
had done he fled from the street.

Princes Punishment!

The Prince is informed of the murders and decides that he has had
enough bloodshed and banishes him. Both sides of the families are down
right devistated. In fact, Lady Capulet doesn't seem entirely happy with this
punishment and says, 'Romeo slew Tybalt, Romeo must not live.'

Act IV

"Love give me strength, and strength shall help afford. "
- Juliet IV, i
external image 6.jpg
The quote from act IV is saying "Love give me strength, and strength will
help me though." It is important to this act in the play because Juliet is
weak and sad because Romeo, her love, is now banished. It shows that
she is grieving over her lost love, although not dead.

I think this is important to the play because it is representing that love is
a strength in which with it, a person can complete anything. Love is a
powerful thing and the strength that comes with it is just as powerful.
It can relate to everyday life through those whom have lost someone in their
life. This is because when you lose someone, it's like you lost strength,
however the love of those around you may be enough to make strength to
overcome grievance you may carry.

Parents vs Teenagers

As a teenager growing up to be a young adult, you are giving rules by your parents. Rules usually vary on what your parents rules were when they grew up, or based on how they were raised. Parent's don't give teens rules to make them mad at them. They make rules to make sure your not going to get into trouble, staying safe, and to make you a successful and mature adult when you grow up. So that's why parents give their children rules to follow.

I have around eight rules I have to follow around my house. My rules are; no swearing, no physical fights, no staying out past curfew, no drugs/alcohol, no disrespecting adults, do your chores, do what your told by your parents, and no playing Call of Duty all night long. I feel that these rules are fair and reasonable. These are all rules that children should have because they can keep your teens under control. My parents are flexible on the curfew rule and Call of Duty one, however others they are not so flexible. Rules broken that my parents won't tolerate is the no drugs/alcohol and disrespecting adults.

If I do get punished for breaking a rule, it is usually a few things taken away. Punishments I have are usually; no cell phone, no xbox/wii, go to my room, no hanging out with friends, and extra chores. I believe that those are reasonable punishments even though I don't like them. If I do think a rule is unfair, I can tell them why I think that and so on, but they have the final say in it. Usually if I get punished I am unlikely to repeat it because technology is a big part in my life.

As teens, my parents had rules, too. Actually, every rule I have are the rules they had when they were teens. Guess I can thank my grandparents for those rules. Their punishments, however were more harsh. My parents punishments were; slapped on the mouth, mouth washed out (soap), and the usual, spanking on the butt. They said that when they did something wrong, they learned real quick to no do it again. They also have a punishment were you stand facing a corner which drives you crazy. I use to get that when I was younger and hated it. I do feel those rules were reasonable as I do have them today. the slapping of the mouth and soap use is an unfair punishment however. I did think the butt spanking was reasonable and I wouldn't find it such a bad use today. Maybe if teens got spanked a little more they wouldn't be in so much trouble. It hurts the kids but it isn't like your gonna die or anything. That's just my thinking of it.

So those are some of the rules I have and some of the rules my parents had when they were growing up. You can also see how punishments have changed over the past generation.
The key here is not that your parents are making rules and punishments to hurt you, they just are helping you to become a successful adult when you grow up.

Act V

"One writ with me in sour misfortune’s book."
-Romeo V, iii
external image The_Bad_Beginning_Series_of_Unfortunate_Events_Book.jpeg
The deffinition of this quote from act V is, "Someone wrote of me
in a sour luck's book." The importance of this quote is that Romeo
is expressing his feeling of the events that are occuring in his life.
He has been banished, his love's family hates him and his family,
Juliet's now dead. (she isn't really dead but he doesn't know that)
So that's why he's saying his life is just and unlucky story someone
wrote up.

I believe this is an important quote to the play, because it shows how
Romeo is feeling about all the misfortune events in his life. This quote
can relate to everyday life because I think most people, have one time
or another, have thought that their life is just a book of unlucky events.
For example, say a person's dog dies, then he breaks his foot, and
now his parents got divorced. All these things happening at one time
may make you to think that your unlucky or your in a book and someone
is doing all this to you. So that's what I think and how this quote can relate
to everyday life.

New Ending to Romeo and Juliet

Romeo then makes it to the tomb and meets Juliet there. He waits for Juliet to wake up like the Friar told him to. After 10 minutes, Juliet wakes up slowly and stiff. They meet eyes and start to kiss. Then they hear voices and escape the tomb. They end up going with Friar to another town about five miles away. There they can live happily ever after.
After a year everything has been going good for the two love birds. Romeo gets a job as a mail carrier and Juliet gets a job cleaning houses. They both make a decent amount of money and to them it doesn’t matter as long as they’re together. They have a little house on the main street that Romeo bought two days after moving there So far their lives are good. Friar checks up on them every now and then. Juliet’s nurse, however, has past away due to a flu she got four months after Juliet and Romeo went to there new village.
It’s been two years now and it isn’t looking too good for the two of them. Romeo and Juliet keep getting into fights and now they can barely pay for their house. Romeo ends up getting a letter from Rosaline. She wants him back and is sorry for ever breaking up with him. After a week Juliet is alone. Romeo left her and went to marry Rosaline. Juliet can no longer afford the payment on the house and goes back to Verona to marry Count Paris. It takes a year, but Count Paris finally accepts Juliet’s apology. They get married and have a boy whom is then named Romeo, because Juliet still secretly has a love for Juliet. Romeo does end up having a girl with Rosaline and they name her Juliet. This is because after being with Rosaline he realizes what mistake he made leaving Juliet.
Romeo and Juliet never meet again, until their kids Romeo and Juliet meet in Verona 18 years after the split up. Romeo Paris falls in love with Juliet Montague. So young Romeo ends up being with young Juliet and both sides of the family get along well. But older Romeo and Juliet will keep their love they shared a secret until they die. As for young Romeo and Juliet, they live happily ever after until death do them part.
